Colonel March of Scotland Yard: Interplanetary Message (1955) French Insert Poster

Colonel March of Scotland Yard was an Associated Television (ITV London) detective mystery series starring Boris Karloff, and, in this case, directed by Phil Brown (who never escaped directing just for TV, and acted up until the late 1990s).

Three episodes of the show were combined to forge two feature films (this and Folie Homicide / Mad Murder), which were given Europe only releases. The episodes were based on 'The Department of Queer Complaints' by novelist John Dickson Carr, who specialised in locked-room murders and other 'impossible' crimes. Colonel March solved the mysteries that baffled Scotland Yard, and here he investigates a scientist who insists he's received radio waves emanating from Mars.

Other directors on the TV series included Hammer's Terence Fisher, Cy Endfield - Zulu (1964) and Arthur Crabtree - Horrors of the Black Museum (1959).
