Black Veil for Lisa (1968) Uk Quad Poster
Shot in Hamburg for a Euro-giallo feel, A Black Veil for Lisa was Massimo Dallamano's second directing credit after being the cinematographer on everything from late 50s paplums to Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and For a Few Dollars More (1965). He went on to the infamous Venus in Furs (1969), What Have You Done to Solange? (1972), The Cursed Medallion (1975) and Red Rings of Fear (1978).
Rather than the traditional mystery element of a giallo, the killer(s) are quickly in evidence, although the one policeman John Mills tracks does wear black gloves. The film is more concerned with the psychology of the three main characters, and the obssessive jealousy, love and revenge they bring upon each other.
