Day Time Ended (1979) UK Quad Poster

Originally titled Earth’s Final Fury, The Day Time Ended was director / actor / stuntman John ‘Bud’ Cardos’s follow up to Kingdom of the Spiders (1977), just before he hit his ferocious stride with Mutant (1984). It’s been criticised for its slim plotline, but it’s actually a far more complex affair, with a family stuck in the midst of a timewarp supernova, with reptilian alien telepathy and time travel as various members of the family are buffeted onto separate time paths. It’s a lot of fun, and there’s some nifty stop motion animation by the great David Allen, with matte paintings and the final ‘city of light’ constructed by Jim Danforth.
