Vigilante Force was directed by George Armitage - Grosse Point Blank (1993) and shot in 30 gruelling days with a particularly fine genre cast. In a case of 'be careful what you wish for' a young man calls in his brother to deal with rising crime rates in a small oil town. His brother, a troubled Vietnam vet, quells trouble, but with his 'vets for hire' army, tries to take over the town themselves, leading to a violent confrontation between the brothers. Art Director Jack Fisk was helped by his wife, Sissy Spacek, shortly before they decamped to make Carrie (1976) together.

If seeing Juliet Mills (of Nanny and the Professor) naked in Avanti (1972) was a shock, then when she started spewing green bile in The Devil Within Her, she shed her saccharine image with a vengeance – and rarely made films again. Although there has been an announcement of a sequel entitled Embryo which she's signed up for. The film was sued by Warners for copyright infringement - the case was settled some five years later.
