Chimes at Midnight (1965) German A1 Poster

A lovely playing card design (initialled R.M. at bottom) for Orson Welles' masterpiece Chimes at Midnight, which weaves a complete story of Shakespeare's tragic buffoon Sir John Falstaff. The script was constructed from five plays: Henry IV Part I and Henry IV Part II, Richard II, Henry V and The Merry Wives of Windsor. Jeanne Moreau as Doll Tearsheet is depicted in the heart, and Margaret Rutherford as Mistress Quickly in the spade.
