My Little Eye was a frontrunner of the hidden camera genre, and became a sleeper hit. In a neat take on the Big Brother TV sensation, five contestants agree to spend six months in a house to win $1 million, their every move covered by a multitude of cameras. If any player leaves, no one wins the prize. An unexpected visitor, the dawning realisation that no one has heard of the show and sudden murder, bring events to a head.

After a disastrous four hour long premiere, it was cut down to 90 minutes, and ultimately took around $7 million at the box office - a healthy enough return. Director Marc Evans made Resurrection Man (1998) and Trauma (2004), before heading to lighter pastures with Snow Cake (2004) and Hunky Dory (2011).
