It's hard to improve on the IMdB capsule review: 'A trio of scientists plan to create a self-replicating, immortal, hermaphrodite using the Final Programme developed by a dead, Nobel Prize-winning scientist'. Robert Fuest brings his lunatic visual style to Michael Moorcock's barmy novel - the two of them collaborated on the script. Jon Finch played the lead that was to have gone to Timothy Dalton - a year earlier Finch did exactly the same thing to Dalton on Lady Caroline Lamb (1972).

Artist: marked Castle Jones - it is, of course a double act. Airbrush specialist Philip Castle, famous for his design for Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange (1971), and fine artist Allen Jones who created the poster for Barbet Schroeder's Maîtresse (1975). This same year they collaborated on the Pirelli Calendar (with photographer Brian Duffy) and created its most ethereal edition.
