Alberto di Martino (who rips off The Omen (1976) a couple of years later with Holocaust 2000 / The Chosen) manages to make it look sumptuous; wonderful locations, sets and some blasphemous dream sequences that would have made Ken Russell proud. Claiming it was a remake of The Exorcist (1973) Warner Bros. unsuccessfully sued L’anticristo’s producers for plagiarism. Director of Photography Aristide Massaccessi (it translates to 'mass of excesses') is actually the infamous Joe D'Amato.
