The 'first electric Western' is loosely based on Hermann Hesse's novels Siddhartha and Narcissus and Goldmund, where two friends find that the different paths they take in life continue to converge and diverge - each time they meet they discuss their fate, and the sense that they are heading for a final confrontation. Essentially, a musical version of El Topo (1970) which was made more or less at the same time, it's fun without being too demanding - or deep.
