Africa Addio (1966) UK Quad Poster
The third of Gualtiero Jacopetti and Franco Prosperi's 1962 Mondo Cane (A Dog's Life) movies, where they are simply credited as Jacopetti and Prosperi. Its original running time of nearly 2 1/2 hours was severly truncated in nearly every territory, often removing more pastoral moments to get to the next atrocity faster.
The Italians pointed their camera at everything from poaching, tribal slaughter, the civil war in the Congo, and the Kenyan Mau Mau uprising. Although censured, they were able to prove that, unlike some of the staged events in Mondo Cane #2, everything here was real.
Aka: Africa: Blood and Guts / Farewell Africa
