Archer and the Sorceress (1981) UK Quad Poster

Another TV movie given a theatrical distribution in Europe. The original NBC pilot was titled The Archer: Fugitive from the Empire, cashing in on the buzz from the preceding year's The Empire Strikes Back. Unsurprising that Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox objected to it retaining that title in the cinema.

With the first fully electronic keyboard score by Ian Underwood (late of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention) it had a rather flat look, unsurprising since both cinematographer John McPherson and director Nicholas J Corea are best known for their collaborations on The Incredible Hulk TV series.
