King Kong (1933 / 2001RR) French Commercial Poster

2001 Reissue of Péron's extraordinary deco artwork for the classic original, with superlative animation by Willis O'Brien and his team. Incidentally, director Merian C. Cooper appears as the pilot who finally kills Kong. RKO man Van Nest Polglase was supervising Art Director, and went on to head up the visuals on Charles Laughton's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939), Citizen Kane (1941) and Gilda (1946) as well.
