Scorpion with Two Tails (1982) Spanish 1 Sheet #New

Not Sergio Martino's finest giallo, and like Armando Crispino's earlier The Dead Are Alive (1972), this film concerns ancient Etruscan tombs. The wife of a famous archaeologist is suffering from nightmares about his discovery of the tombs, when he is brutally murdered. She travels to Italy to investigate, only to be caught up in drug smuggling and supernatural events - not the best combination for a giallo.

The Scorpion with Two Tails originally started as an 8 part television series, and a shoot lasting four months seems to have had a deleterious effect on Martino. By shortening it to feature length, the leaden visual pacing of the TV series original simply can't be given more energy. Even the music is borrowed from Fabio Frizzi's score for The Beyond (1981). Killer artwork from Sciotti though.
