I don't know why this Brent Walker-released maggot classic doesn't get more love. After all, it kept their theatre, the Rialto, Leicester Square running for about a year! Jeff Lieberman's feature debut is based on a childhood incident, where worms rose to the surface after his brother fed electricity into the soil. Here, the little town of Fly Creek is covered in carniverous worms after an electrical storm. Makeup effects were handled by Rick Baker, who use prosthetics for the first time, and the key stunt actor R. A. Dow - the man who disappears in a sea of worms - never made another film...

At one time, Kim Basinger and Martin Sheen were up for the leads, which would have kept the film on Blockbuster's shelves - the tight editing was by British cutter Brian Smedley-Aston - Symptoms (1974) and the ferocious Blue Sunshine (1977).

Condition: FINE / VERY FINE - slight overfolding mid horizontal fold

Cast: Don Scardino - He Knows You're Alone (1980), Patricia Pearcy, R. A. Dow, Jean Sullivan, Peter MacLean, Fran Higgins
