Melding the Women in Prison, Future Dystopia and Most Dangerous Game genres, Brian Trenchard-Smith's ozploitation classic is enormous fun, despite shooting problems and compromises. Every member of the cast throws themselves whole-heartedly into the fray, except, perhaps, Olivia Hussey, who often looks as though she wishes she was anywhere else!

In a totalitarian future, political and social prisoners are hunted for sport by an idle elite. With lashings of torture, attempted rape, immolations and bodily dismemberment, you have one of the key 80's exploitation films, as written by Jon George and Neill D. Hicks, also responsible for Harlequin (1980) and Campsite Massacre (1983). New World Pictures released Turkey Shoot in the USA in 1983, severly truncated to achieve an R rating. Inadvertently they sent the uncut version to cinemas, before the MPAA were informed and the R cut returned.
